When I was first contacted to photograph Trevor and Jesse's wedding at Village by the Sea in Wells Maine, we talked about formal portraits and it was quickly clear that these two wanted something a little more relaxed than the traditional photos taken on one's wedding day. So we decided on a beach session the day following the ceremony and reception.
With the excitement and inevitable nerves that come with any wedding behind them, Jesse and Trevor were able to enjoy a quiet photo session together on Drakes Island.
These two just radiate love.
I love this shot of their hands and more specifically their rings. It feels so intimate.
We had a perfect evening with warm, soft light. Most of the tourists had packed up their beach chairs and towels to head home by sunset which allowed to create the feel of being entirely alone.
You might notice that my editing style is a bit different with this session. I felt that a richer, deeper matte edit matched the mood here. I felt so much love from these two that I wanted the viewer to feel it also. A light and airy edit just didn't convey that.
