Doug & Kari were neighbours before they were a couple.
They had seen one another out doing yard work, taking out the trash, and getting the mail. Waved hello.
And each called their loved ones to tell them about the cute neighbour living next door.
Avid adventurers, they imagined a romantic destination wedding in Maine where they could say their vows by the ocean and visit the many gorgeous locations in Acadia National Park.
But like so many couples in 2020, plans changed and while we waited to see how the pandemic would play out, they eloped quietly to the mountains in VA. Love sometimes can't wait.
But as things began to return to "Normal", Doug & Kari decided to keep their Maine Wedding in Bar Harbor so they could enjoy the experience they had planned for and share their celebration with close family & Friends.
We spent two days together in Bar Harbor. The first capturing causal engagement style images in Acadia National Park.
We wanted those big incredible views so our first stop was the top of Cadillac Mountain.
This lovely little spot was just off the side of the road in the park and a perfect place to get the rugged coastline and iconic pines of Acadia in.
Off to Jordan Pond. So many great shots in this location but I just don't have room to share them all in this post. Just trust me...they're lovely!
We ended our tour of Acadia at Jessup Path where the leaves were showing off in all their fall glory!
The following day was the "big day" where they shared their wedding vows before family & friends.
We took some time to capture the details of the day and the special preparations they made.
Doug had a surprise up his sleeve. He purchased a second band to complete Kari's wedding ring set and planned to pull it out during the ring exchange. <3
The rooms at the Bar Harbor Inn are gorgeous. Offering lovely spaces to get ready and water views in all directions.
Their first look was in the gardens. For fall, their gardens still had remarkable color that we could resist.
A stunning arrangement created by Flowers by Hoboken- one of my favourite vendors.
Isn't the detail on her dress incredible!
We ventured around he property for their wedding portraits taking in the gorgeous day.
Sun sets early up here in Maine this time of year...but that means we that the portraits end right at the golden hour, when that light gets so soft and glowy.
The ceremony was held right on the lawn of the Bar Harbor Inn overlooking the ocean.
What a backdrop!
It was so sweet that even here ( their second wedding day) they still shed happy tears as they expressed their love for one another.
The kiss!
We took family photos out on the lawn before heading upstairs to the Porcupine room to party!
