Monhegan Island
Monhegan is a step back in time. It's an adventurous destination reached by boat from:
New Harbor, Boothbay Harbor, or Port Clyde. The picturesque trip from Port Clyde is the favorite route of longtime visitors; the boat passes the Marshall Point Lighthouse and a series of spruce-clad islands before reaching the open sea and plying its way toward Monhegan.
Once on the island you have to move by food but there are several incredibly beautiful locations to photograph at and cute places for a picnic lunch including a brewery.
There are lodging options on the island including an Inn and vacation home rentals. The island is a bit more rustic than luxury and the walking can be a lot but its an incredibly beautiful place and you can make it a day trip.
PRIVACY: Once on the island it would be possible to find a quiet spot after a hike
ROCKY COASTLINE: Absolutely
FOREST: yes
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: Very quaint, a general store, a couple of restaurants and a brewery
RIDE SERVICE: To the ferry possibly, once on the island- it's all on foot. There are some uphill walks, it will require some effort.
LODING: Some however the island is more rustic. Might make a good day trip
LOCAL VENDORS: Would need hair/makeup, florals, etc off island. A dinner on the island would be possible though.
Vesper HIll Children's Chapel
Rockport:
If you want a scenic photo tour of Camden/Rockport we could stop at various locations around town. Camden Amphitheater , mount battie, and have a private ceremony at Vesper Hill Children's Chapel Overlooking the ocean. There is also a pretty garden area nearby for a quiet vows or portraits.
Camden has so many options for vendors too with ample lodging as you know.
Children's Chapel:
We could also take. a boat taxi out to Curtis Island Lighthouse for private vows. Pretty classic maine backdrop there.
Just north at Nortport is this incredible private beach: It's private but I could do some leg work to try and get permission for a ceremony there. :)
